Experiential Learning Opportunities

As a Management student, you'll gain hands-on experience through experiential learning embedded in coursework, internships, and global programs. Courses incorporate activities such as resume building, AI-generated mock interviews, employee handbook creation, leadership interviews, family business case analysis, and strategic consulting simulations. You can also pursue internships with organizations such as PACCAR Engine Company, the Louisiana Department of Health, Consolidated Electrical Distributors, and the Mississippi State University Athletic Department. Global opportunities are available through the Global Game Changers Program, where you can travel to destinations such as France and Italy to explore international business practices.

Spotlight

Students in the management and entrepreneurship programs have the opportunity to compete in the Schlesinger Global Family Enterprise Case Competition (SG-FECC), an international competition where teams apply classroom knowledge to solve complex challenges facing family-owned businesses. The competition focuses on strategy, innovation, and real-world problem solving within family enterprises. In the most recent competition, one of our students was recognized with the Best Presenter Award, highlighting the strength of our students’ analytical and communication skills on a global stage.
